Guest guest
Dean, The short anwser is I don't know I thought it was Andy's suggestion and when I looked at my report- it isn't him. On page 40 of AI Andy speaks about phase one inducers or accelerators. (licorice is one of them) I guess my interpretation was that if you already have a fast phase one liver, speeding it up more would occur with inducers (just so you know, I am so over my head in this topic). Also my response to licorice was so dramatic - thought I might need to go to the hospital. That is how I put that together. There might be greater authorities on this. Also Andy suggested Feingold diet to reduce aggitation. He words are " The Feingold diet is relevant here as it claims to rank and exclude phenols, salicylates and other relevant compounds. It is actually an empirical diet derived from many clinical reports of what people react to rather than based on chemical analysis of the foods. Perhaps 15-25% of people who have a lot of agitation will respond positively to it. " The feingold list has oranges, broiled food tangerines etc...which are also listed on pg 40. Oranges give me the same reaction as licorice just not as dramatic. That is how I have interpreted it...may not be correct. I'd love to learn more but I really need the book called " liver phases for dummies " hope someone writes it soon.
