Guest guest
Has anyone had a problem with paper thin nails and nails that spoon? I know this is not a life or death issue, but I am afraid I will be left with no protection to the end of my fingers. The year I had weekly EDTA IV's for lead toxicity, they improved, but now the nails are very thin again. I started using Andy's protocol in January and have done 10 DMSA 25 mg 4 days on and 4 days off. Also I am taking all the supplements he recommends. Thanks, looking forward to your input. My nails are still pretty soft, but better than they used to be. I would look into ferritin level (iron stores) for one. And consider whether you may need higher doses of minerals and improved stomach acid levels to help you absorb them. I wonder if sulfate helps with nail strength, anyone know? -- > The year I had weekly EDTA IV's for lead toxicity, they improved, but now the nails are very thin again. > > I started using Andy's protocol in January and have done 10 DMSA 25 mg 4 days on and 4 days off. Guest guest
When I was at my very worst (bedridden and housebound) my nails were also paper thin, and I had several infections because they were so thin. I read that this was due to years-long low thyroid / adrenals. After two years on replacement cortisol, Armour thyroid and extra T3, my nails are much stronger, and the white moon at the base of the nail is reappearing after many years :-)) So my nails are getting better, but my adrenals are still shot - imagine I'll be on adrenal support for life.
