I know now a lot of it had to do with a really low metabolism & untreated thyroid disease. But I was also trying to eat things to get energy, because I couldn't get energy from food. It had nothing to do with appetite...I don't think I really had either an appetite or much sense of taste/smell & couldn't figure it out. Some foods did give me a short spark, which was mostly wheat & sugar. As I was going through treatment, I realized I'd eaten those foods because the allergic reaction caused my heart rate to increase quite a bit & give me a sense of an energy burst. It's sad that toxicity has to proceed to such an extreme level that the the person is wasting for many years before it gets diagnosed, but that happened to me, too. That's the same position I was in before amalgam removal. I had to keep going because of the children - I was overweight from taking in extra food in an attempt to get energy (serious sugar cravings), plus untreated hypothyroidism. I was also inactive because of pain. J It had nothing to do with > appetite...I don't think I really had either an appetite or much > sense of taste/smell & couldn't figure it out.
