Guest guest
> Is it difficult to get a clinic appointment? No ,its not difficult. You can go any Tuesday, If you live out of town, its best to schedule surgery for A Wed and come to clinic the Tues prior. Also if you are not ready to schedule surgery and want to lurk you can visit anytime and not be charged if you dont speak to the Dr. one on one. I had 4 clinics......I wasnt ready and so fortunatly living close I kept going back till I was ready and comfrtable. Normally there are as many as 20 - 40 in a room. Yes definatly the support is essential and recommended by Dr. R . He answers questions for you in the forum and then he takes you in an office if you want to talk to him one on one and at that time is when the 255.oo$ chrage goes into effect. Guest guest
JC, I was not local so my clinic appointment was just prior to surgery. I got my clinic appointment the day after getting my surgical date. I chose a 1p.m. time because of the travel involved. I had trouble finding the place and went to the office first. I was late because of being lost. The office said don't worry he's still working with the morning group. They got some info from me and I was antsy because I hate being late. They were right. When I got there he was still seeing the morning group. When I got there the staff was getting weights and waist measurements of the participants. They showed a tape of a surgery and for the most part we talked to each other. It is strange, like a family reunion except you don't know who is who. You have already met so many of them from this list and they were all so friendly and open. You are immediately put at ease. The atendees were pre-op, post-op, considering and our support people. We were fortunate enough to have Rexanne at clinic the day I was there. She was an old hand and was able to show off her progress and answer many of our questions and give helpful hints. When Dr. R came in he had each pre-op introduce themself and tell a little about how we found out about MGB and to ask questions. After this the pre-ops were taken to a room individually with their supporter(s) and given the opportunity to discuss the procedure and ask ? they may not have wanted to ask in a group. After all the pre-ops were seen I hear he sees those considering surgery if they want to talk. The sessions last a long time.I did not mention post-ops because I probably got there too late to meet them that day.I had early clinic post-op and he told the pre-ops to ask us how things went and for those needing contacts to ask us ?? All I needed that day was to be seen ask a few questions and then I booked for home. Hope this answers you questions. That was my perspective Darlene appraiseca@... wrote: > Is it difficult to get a clinic appointment? > > How long does it normally take? > > Can I take two people with me (my sister and husband who will be accompanying > me for my surgery)? > > How long does the clinic last? > > What exactly is the clinic like? > > thanks > > JC > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Explore the popular High-End Room - > Go To Where The Smart People Shop-uBid.com > http://click.egroups.com/1/6141/3/_/453517/_/962468699/ > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > This message is from the Mini-Gastric Bypass Mailing List at Onelist.com > Please visit our web site at http://clos.net > Get the Patient Manual at http://clos.net/get_patient_manual.htm

Does anyone have a bad side effect from it?I was told by a neuroligists nurse that they are seeing alot of good resultswith it but my primary doc will not try it on me and will not give me areferreal to the neurologist. I take Avandia(diabetes), Zantac(acid reflux),Trazadone(sleep), Celexa(antidepresssant), Lasix(water retention),klonopin(anixety). The funny thing is his excuse was that it would workagainst my meds but before I approached him I checked with my pharmicists and he said there would be no problem and that was his excuse that my medswould hurt me if I took it. I even read up on the internet and they say theonly meds is the zantac and all I had to do was to take it two hours beforeor after I take the neurotin. I would appreciate any infomation on yourexperience with it. thanks FayHi Fay,I've been taking 300 mg of Neurontin twice a day for several months now withno bad side effects. I'm also on Prozac, Klonopin, Flexeril, Vioxx, Synthroid, Lo-Ovral, ClaritinMiacalcin Nasal Spray and a multi-vitamin. My mom has been on 300 mg of Neurontin 3 times a day for almost 5 years.Plus, she takes more meds than I do. My Psychiatrist put me on it for the Fibro pain, to help me sleep and as amood stablizer. The only thing I can say that it does for me is help mesleep. I've gotten more sleep since I've been on it than I had for years. That's my experience with it, but everyone is different.{{{Hugs}}}JacquiJacqui McCallisterAge: 39Dx'd with FMS: 1995, but symptoms since 1984Additional Illnesses: Papillary Thyroid Cancer spread to lungs,Intra-Occular Migraines, TMJ, Allergies, Periodontitis, Mitral ValveProlapse, IBS, Osteoarthritis, MPS and CFS, Congenital Hip Dysplasia, Osteopenia,Bunions, Heel Spur, Light/Smell/Sound Sensitivities, Motion Sickness, SleepProblems, Depression, Anxiety Location: Ridgeview, West Virginia USADivorced, no kids.
