Guest guest
Hi, Jody, Thank you for responding so thoroughly to my post. I read it quick yesterday and then was out the rest of the day and night so only now can I respond. Sorry to confuse you but it was actually a dose reduction to 26.25 (typo) which I did by taking 3/4's of a 5 mg tab (3.75) along with a whole 5mg tab for a total of 8.75 x 3 which adds up to the 26.25 mgs. Anyway, I have to agree with you about the stress of the holidays and how it affects everything but it is so hard to control stress unless you are one of the lucky ones who has an inner button which can shut it all out when you reach overload. I guess that where the yoga and meditiation comes in as a positive. I'll know after 1pm today the T3's and T4's for whatever they're worth and the endo, who seemed poised to lower my dosage after my visit with him on Wednesday, will let me know what he wants me on then. I will hold back regardless untill I get the FT4's which I'm getting drawn for today. It's ashame I have to do this in piece meal but I think alot of people here craft together their plan along with the right medical advise of course. My TSH is <.01 and I understand it lags so it is not reliable to determine dosage. Thank you for the idea of attaching the cards to the lab results, I never thought of that. I think we assume that we will go from bad to better after treatment but that is not always the case especially if the eyes are involved. What I did do is get a big binder and have a section with the labs, another for alt. treatment which has vitamin and supplement info and another with copies of valuable postings from this group. You words of encouragement were so important to me yesterday as I read them. I thought tampering with the dosages may somehow effect how my body responded to the ATD's in the future. You helped me realize that I must have labs to back up dose changes because as you said, our so called " hypo symptoms " may actually be something else going on like in my case a sinus infection. My biggest worry in the world about all of this is my eyes which I know you and others here who have been through it understand. I think I'm going to be more proactive in this area. My symptoms are primarily sore eyes (I should say sore eye-its all in the left eye) and double looking upward but for all I know they swelling is going to town in the back of my eyeballs as I write and months from now they'll pop. I just made another appointment with my expensive eye doc in the city which I have seen once before for a baseline because I want to explore the possibilities of steroids even though I understand they are no picnic. If its unwarrented, I want him to tell me. I just stopped typing to answer the phone. It was a friend who is in the hospital with her 6 yr old daughter. She is hysterical and wants me to pick up her mother and bring her there so I'll have to make this shorter than I wanted. Anyway, thank you Jody and all the others who have held my hand through doctors who refused me ATD's, hives, eye problems, reactions to niacin, this and more. I am totally sincere when I say I don't know where I'd be without everyone here who I consider a friend. (Maybe we could have an East Coast lunch in the Spring?-I'm in Northern NJ-Bergen County) Gotta go..... THANK YOU!
