Guest guest
Sandy, had a good suggestion, getting those cranberry capsules. The juice never worked for me and it's because the sugar content in juice actually aggravates a UTI. If you can't find them in the grocery store, a health food store will be sure to have them. You take a couple a day with water and I was amazed at how quickly everything cleared up. Of course, if you've got a bad infection you will need antibiotics. Also, I was prescribed phenazopyridine both during pregnancy and while breastfeeding and everything was fine Good luck, Kristi Re: PTU? Bladder infection? -Thanks everyone. I did take the phenazopyridine. I was in too much pain not too. I will not take the macrobid because it seems to have too many drug interactions. I will call my endo in the morning. Cranberry juice has never helped me when I have gotten a bladder infection. I have had them off and on for years. I eat yogurt alot before any time I am taking antibiotics but this time with the Graves I did not. I am trying to stay off dairy as much as possible. Seems cheese affects me for some reason. For those, antibiotics won't work and cranberry juice is a good idea. To avoid the sugar in commercial stuff you can get cranberry caps in any vitamin dept.--I got my last bottle at the Rite Aid drug store. > > Good luck--you need to get it checked out to avoid a more serious infection to your kidneys, yet may well find it's not bacterial, just hurts like hell. > > > > >
