Guest guest
Mike, welcome to the list. You have surely been through enough problems for more than one person. What you wrote, about work, doctor, family is very familiar to us here on this list. All or any of us are willing to listen if you need to vent. I think that this is a very good group. We are caring, loving, supportive and willing to listen. If you have any question, ask. Someone will either know the answer or will find out for you. This group works together and we get along very well for such a big list. Again, welcome. Take care, Irene Books may well be the only true magic Alice Hoffman

Guest guest
I had prostate cancer in 2002. It was a breeze compared to my 2004 colon cancer. I had RP for the prostate cancer and my onc said last month if it came back now he could keep me going for at least 12-15 years-wish colon onc could say that. I have had both and you will find prostate cancer recovery easy compared to your colon experience. I also was lucky and had almost no aftet effects from the prostate surgery
Guest guest
I just joined this group and this is my first post. As the result of an annual physical 3 and 1/2 years ago, I found out I had colon cancer. I only had 1 polyop, and it proved to be cancer. I had surgery for it at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport CT. It showed no signs of having spread and subsequent exams have shown no problems. What prompted me to join this group is this: The colon cancer was my third cancer. I had melanoma in l968 and then again about 9 years later. Then about two months ago I found out that I had prostate cancer. I had my prostate removed and am still in the process of recovering from that. I seemed to be ok with the whole affair until the last couple of weeks and now the implications of the side effects of having had the prostate removed are sinking in. I wonder if there are any others in this group who have had multiple instances of cancer and how do they deal with it? As far as the colon cancer recovery is concerned. I developed hernias after the surgery and the doctor tried to repair them but one returned. I didn't want any more surgery so I have learned to live with it. My colon has become rather tempermental since the operation and my bowel movements can be an adventure. I try to keep a positive attitude, but this last thing has really thrown me for a loop. I am 62 years old and single. I live by myself. Hope to get some feedback from others. Thanks Jim Sizemore
