She meant 500mg of tyrosine, plus *some* selenium plus *some* iodine. You would never want to take 500mg of selenium or iodine. Selenium can become toxic at levels not too far from those recommended for supplementation, and I have a book that says that amount is 1000mcg or 1mg. In AI, Andy recommends 50-300mcg of selenium, and I was recommended to take between 200-400mcg/day by one doctor. Andy doesn't give a recommendation (amount) for iodine in AI, and suggestions for this might vary quite a bit, as states below. You can do an iodine loading test. I know VRP offers it now, and there are probably other places.-----------Jackie (Sorry for butting in !) (perhaps in lieu of Armour?). I've been using a product from NOW " Potassium plus Iodine " which has 225 mcg of iodine. You can start low and work up, still staying well below the super high doses (one Iodoral is 12.5 mg). I'm at about 2-3 mg per day now. I've read on another list that iodine can help not only thyroid, but raise progesterone levels.
