Glad things are going weel with you.

As for your friend, she needs a new doc. Even the worst insurance programs

out there allow thyroid testing more often than 18 months.

You might also want to check into Werner and Ingbar's The Thyroid which has

several chapters on hypothyroidism, detailing even more symptoms than you'll

find on the list. This is the definitive teaching text on the thyoid. My book

also has a chapter on hypoT that has many citations from this and similar

textbooks.

Mental fog, for one, is a major hypo symptom, and if hypoT is mismanaged,

patients can move into myxedema coma. This doctor should be reported for both

his insensitive comments and his lack of knowledge regarding hypothyroidism.
