Guest guest
Red, My food allergy tests were originally blood test, where the gluten allergy showed up, and it wasn't that severe compared to my other allergies..Later on I had a biosy, and the camera thing down my throat to check it all out..that part was to test for celiac. So I know the food allergy tests can/are sometimes called into question, but the antibody testing (which I have not had) and the biopsy are good ways for knowing for sure if you can't have gluten. Consequently, that Doctor also told me I had IBS, and then he said " whatever that means. " And then he said it's a catch all phrase meaning, you can't eat anything. A little humor at my expense! Anyhow, he said the most important thing for me to watch is dehydration and nutrient absorbtion. That's why I am so strict with my eating. Guest guest
Hi Red, I was 80 for IgG gliadin antibodies on the first test, and 100 on the second test. Our lab uses 55 as the cutoff, regardless if it's IgG or IgM since most celiacs are low in immunoglobulin A.
