Guest guest
Thank YOU Jolene!!! I miss you all!! As I get stronger I will be on here more often. It hurts to sit straight for very long. The doctor warned me that this type of surgery will be slow going . But I did not expect it to be this bad!!!! Guess I should pay more attention!!! It will get better with time. Guest guest
Ingrid, It is very nice to hear from you. This message is a ray of sunshine on a foggy morning. I hope you will feel better soon but I'm afraid that it will a slow improvement. I'm praying for the day that you can cough or laugh without pain (soon!). Take care of yourself. Guest guest
Oh Ingrid I know what you mean. I am so glad to hear from you. Go slow and don't go to the future hole. I made a commitment for myself . I put my house up for sale and am going to move to New Mexico. I am looking forward to it. Karima Re: Ingrid Karima, Yes I agree one day at a time. My stomach incision feels fine. It is the rib surgery that is so sore. Feels like ribs are broke. It will get better. What concerns me now is when they removed the scar tissue on my colon they found another nodule wrapped up within the all the scar tissue that had twisted my colon. The surgion at first did not think it was cancer. But the patholigy report came back as cancer. Not sure what this will mean. But hopefully this will explain why my CEA counts had risin prior to surgery. Once I get stronger I will see the ONC again for another CEA and then hear what he will reccomend for this. Those thoughts do frighten me. I just want all this to go away. Ingrid > > >>>I am feeling a litle better > > this evening and thought I would write here and update on why I > have > > not been here. Guest guest
Karima, So glad you nade a decision. Hopefully your house sells quickly and you get what you want. Moving is no fun. But a good way to sort stuff out. I know I did a lot of sorting when we moved from OKC to Indiana. Of course towards the end did not sort as much. Still ended up packing a lot in a rush. LOL Hope it all goes as you plan. Have you picked out a house there in NM yet? Guest guest
Actually no Ingrid, I am moving to a place called Riverwalk. It is a beautiful apartment complex. The buildings are 3 storied and of course I am applying for ground floor, 2 bedroom with fireplace, open floor plan and terrace and I can bring my dogs. I have already checked for a Unity Church and there is one and I also found the Southwest Sufi Community plus (and the main reason), my friend of 40 years lives there too. It is beautiful, clean, swimming pool, gym...just yummy and only a short flight to San Fran where my oldest daughter is. You take care now. Karima Re: Ingrid Karima, So glad you nade a decision. Guest guest
Your new home sound lovely.... Where is Riverwalk located? Up around Albequerque area? I am thinking has to be northern part, southern part of NM desert, and not very welcoming. Sounds like a great location... Hope it all comes together soon for you. Guest guest
They are apartments and I am so looking forward to it. It is truly a lovely place and you can see the Sandia Mountain Range when sitting outside. I pray for God's blessings on this move. Karima Re: Ingrid Wow Karima, That sounds so nice!!!! Guest guest
Oh thanks Joe. My doctor said my prognosis was 100% and if I wanted to move, I should MOVE. I have been in NM many times and truly love it there and I have a friend of 40 years there; I will be living in the same place she is. Having found my Church and a Sufi Dance group and the fact that my dogs are welcome ... what more could I ask for. Glad you are doing so well. Karima Re: Ingrid I lived in Albuquerque for 7 years. Guest guest
Hang in there Ingrid...we are pulling for you. Worry is a waste of time and wears you out. Try now, now, now and only deal with your rib pain. I know it's hard, but you gotta do it. Karima Re: Ingrid Hi, Thank You for asking. It is morning now. I still tire so easily and my ribs are soooooo sore. They told me it will be a very slow healing process and now believe they are not kidding. Any surgery to the ribs is slow healing. I feel a little better this morning and then I know as the day goes on I get tired so easily. Have a lot of restrictions on me what I can and cannot do. That does not bother me since my body sure tells me when enough is enough. Of course mentally I get down very easily. Keep wondering if the cancer is back or what. I know they found the other nodule and they got it out. But now am worried thaat the cancer can come back so quickly in spite of the chemo I went through. . One can feel great one minute and be so sick the next. I want to beat this cancer so much. Tomorrow I have to see the lung surgeon for follow up. More x-rays and then see the doctor. When I feel stronger I guess there will be another CEA test and then will see if that nodule was the cause in the CEA rise. I am Praying so hard that it was and and CEA drops back to normal. I know one day at a time. But can not stop myself from worry. I think all here understands that. Cancer truely sucks and want to be healthy again. Other then that I feel better everyday. Going to be awhile before I can do things again.
