She is still swollen around her face/neck area, But she is moving better, she got home from the hospital with full intention of taking a HOT shower, her body wanted rest first though , she slept for 3 hours. Guest guest
My mom says prune juice works best for her, she couldnt get started after her surgery either, and the prune juice worked. I never could have gotten my son to drink prune juice though, not in a million! ~Dianna Grandmommyandme@... wrote: In a message dated 7/18/2005 10:05:06 PM Eastern Standard Time, debbied31@... writes: However she still hasnt had a bowel movement dont tell her im talking about that But she hasnt had one since LAST WEEK MONDAY the narcotics and surgery puts the bowels to sleep but GEEZ A WEEK?? ugh Deb She might need some stool softener, like Colace or tell her to eat Raisin Bran!!! Guest guest
I guess this will give my age away but there was a time they would never release you from hospital till you had a BM! I used to get so mad getting woke up in the morning and being asked if I had a BM:) Geez after my resect they started talking about me going home and I was still on 10th day of IV only. I asked them if I should not try to eat first. Of course with that I had no problem with BM. Could not stop them! Guest guest
My mom always threatened me with prunes or an enema when I was constipated as a child. Rather than have an enema I ate the prunes - actually got to liking them...LOL...all Dani would need to do is eat maybe three dried prunes (they taste better that way) and it should get things working. Encourage her to eat some fresh fruit -citrus kinds, vegetables.. If all else fails try Colace, it is a pretty mild stool softener and some have something extra.. I preferred the straight Colace. Just gently encourages on to go... HOpe some of this helps...JOlene Dianna Brendle wrote: > My mom says prune juice works best for her, she couldnt get started > after her surgery either, and the prune juice worked. Guest guest
I remember that time well Hil..... Could not believe they wouldn't let me go until I had a bm. Well it was usually when I was having a baby..... First time they had to do the enema thing. I hate them with a passion...LOL!!! but after that I got smart. I don't know what sweetner was in Rolaids back then.... maybe sucrose or something but All I had to do was eat a few rolaids and wasn't long and I had my bm..(those velamint candies which I dearly loved, did it to me as well) They never had to do enema again. LOL... Jolene Hil wrote: > I guess this will give my age away but there was a time they would > never release you from hospital till you had a BM!
