Guest guest
HI Eilain! I " ll be happy if my TSH is above .001. I have been very careful about taking my meds (PTU 50mg 3x aday) every 8 hrs. I am really trying to eat right etc.... I'm happy I have some energy too!! Your book is very informative so far!! I'm glad I paid attention in science class!!, I havent gotten that far, busy day!!!! AND SPEAKING OF LONG DAY...... Typical .......OK Gang here it is, the thyriod really and truley is over looked. I had a 70ish y/o female comlpaining of palpitaions and off and on chest pain for about 8 hrs. history of cardiac (pacemaker) hi blood pressure and she NEVER mentioned thyriod problems. I saw the bottle of tap and asked her. She said yes I have some kind of thyriod problem............ok, she also had eye problems, blurred vision off and on, eye pain off and on, hypertension or thyriod?? I dont know, but I suggested she make sure she mentions it to the ER doc,and follow up with her endocronologist. You never know I told her, please mention it, you might have a swift dr. who might be able to piece things together. I wrote down her history and meds to the triage nurse, who NEVER WROTE DOWN HYPERTHYRIOD, or her tapizole for it. I mentioned it to her recieving nurse and SHE was a bit miffed that it was completely ignored. (I was pretty surprised she even cave a hoot), but very happy. her 1st words were owww well thriod problems can give you palpitaions you know....really??? I asked, what else?? the nurse told me , " all kinds of problems can arise with an over active thyriod, you name it,palpitations blurred vision are only a few things " Yeahhh well I almost fell over. I told my pt to look into this book,(Yours Eilain). who knows maybe she will. I was just happy some-one listened. Sooo thats my story (and I'm sticking to it!!) I feel like a thyriod promoter now!! who knows I probably am!!! Thanks all for listening Luci " If it's wet and not your's,dont touch it!
