Guest guest
Phil does not have the bruising you have been talking about but he has had the low platelets Before his ERCP procedure they were testing them daily and if they were low they gave him a shot of something. I wasn't with him to ask what but we will be going over tomorrow and I can ask then. Narice .
Guest guest
It is my understanding, that steroids might help the body produce the platelets. That is the reason my husband was put on them. The only real " cure " or " fix " is a platelet transfusion. When his got to 52, I really believe he would have sent him to the hospital for a transfusion. However, while we were sitting in the exam room, we heard a page for a nurse to pick up a call from the hospital. I really believe the hospital was calling to tell them not to send any more for blood/platelets patients as the office had already sent 6 to the hospital that morning. The onc. said the transfusion is handled at the hospital as out-patient surgery.
