Guest guest
Last night we went to see Return to the Forbidden Planet. I'd seen it in London a few years back and enjoyed it. We are sort of season ticket holders to a theatre in Hornchurch about an hour's drive away and have been going with 2 other couples on & off for about 6 years. The tickets work out £7 each per show (rather than £14) if you book to see all the (3 or 4) shows in a season. The show was great. All members of the resident theatre group sing, dance, act and play a minimum of 3 musical instruments. It was the first night, so there were a few hiccups, which just added to the enjoyment. For those that haven't seen it, it's a musical with loads of 50's songs set in a science-fiction style spaceship based loosely on Shakespear's Tempest. Bit tricky to describe. I always prefer the muscials, so I'm hoping the next two will not be disappointing (The Glass Menagerie and The Woman who Cooked her Husband). In fact I've just visited their website to see about booking tickets for my parents and come across one of the comedy acts that they have on www.queens-theatre.co.uk/Comedy.html called Puppetry of the Penis. And yes, it seems as if it is just as it sounds! How bizarre. Todman Treasurer, Stansted Branch (R5) Mum to , 3½
