Guest guest
I am having some strange brain symptoms after my last Dr visit. I had 3 of the remaining 6 amalgams left in my mouth, only 3 more to go the first Friday in January. Then I can start DMSA. This last visit my symptoms afterward weren't quit as nice. I especially noticed something that I've had a bunch of times before. Normally each day around 3 pm or so I get this ache behind my eyes. Feels like pressure in my skull, like my brain is expanding in just this front part. Or another way to describe it, it feels like there is a weight of lead in the front of my head pushing down and forward. After the visit with the dentist I have been feeling this all the time. Not sure what it is, but must be related to mercury. I wish I could start chelating now, but know I have to wait. Is there anything I can do to make sure that the mercury released when my amalgams are taken out doesn't go right to my brain? I'm supplementing with several things. Some related, but most for GI issues. Here's what I'm taking right now: Just before each meal I take digestive enzymes. About 1 hour after each meal - Ginger, Cinnamon, and I just started with curcumin. Morning with breakfast - Selenium, Zinc, Vitamin C - 2 Grams, Vitamin E 400 IU, milk thistle. Noon with lunch - Vitamin D 2000 IU, Milk Thistle. With Dinner - Milk Thistle. Before Bed - an SSRI for anxiety and Amitryptiline (sp) for sleep. Guest guest
This doesn't surprise me. I had to return to the dentist 3 years post amalgam removal to have crowns taken out. On one side, a gold crown concealed Hg, and that side of my jawline has had enlarged lymph nodes on and off for decades, plus hearing problems, ear infections, & a blocked eustachian canal. As soon as these were removed, I had a very sharp flare-up of enlarged lymph nodes and ear infection. My suspicion is that removing the Hg in teeth naturally sets off some redistribution, there's a new exposure to contend with, and perhaps the immune system takes on a renewed effort to deal with Hg to which it's highly sensitized. I'm looking at this as steps toward making progress, even thought I've felt quite under the weather for a few weeks. Chelation will help. I also react to injections to numb the areas. In weeks following appointments, areas will spontaneously tingle again & I suspect some of the lidodaine or whatever gets trapped in swollen tissues & takes time to free up. Eyes are so close to teeth, as are ears, so I thought these things might have some relevance for you. You're doing all the right things for now & everything will be out soon. Did you use contact lense solution when thimerosol was used as its preservative? Is your dentist shielding your eyes with safety glasses when the work is being done? Guest guest
Mike I have gone through similiar worsening after amalgam removal. i had mine removed three weeks ago. Here is what i am taking for head-help I am round 5 dmsa and its been bad. I think we are experiencing healing crises (ie mercury gets released from organs/tisses after we get rid of amalgams) * just increased melatonin to 15 mgs...an hour before bed (I believe there are posts in some of the onibasu files from andy that says he was taking 22-23mgs..so higher doses are recommended. Last night along with Gaba (see below it seemed to lessen head symtoms and i slept better * Two different supplements One-GABA RELAXER from County life (get it at whole foods) It has200 mg GABA, 400 mg glycine, 600 mgs inositol , 600 taurine 20mg B6 and 200 niacinamide I take 2 of these an hr before i go to bed TWO-MYOCALM PM from Metagenics (I think I had to get this from a health care provider. it has 75 mg calcium, 150 mgs of magnesium, 60mgs passion flower, 30 mgs valerian root, 60 mgs hops cone, 150 mg lemon balm leaf I also take about 3 tablespoons of both flax and fish oil and have been for the last three months. AI says something to the effect that mercury fries the nerve endings in the braina nd seriously depletes our efa/dha I do not know if you have the luxury of having a vitamin C IV after removal. I had them on the first two series and felt much better than i did when i had the last two serioes removed at which time I did not have a vitamin C IV I went and had one yesterday and think I feel better * vinpocetine (i take two 5mgs tablets 3 times a day) Other suggestions ** try to avoid all sulplur foods ** take taurine, it has a synergistic effect with zinc from what i have read, both help head ** try epsom salts baths ** folic acid and B6 I am also taking **no excercise Keep the faith > I am having some strange brain symptoms after my last Dr visit. > I had 3 of the remaining 6 amalgams left in my mouth, only 3 more > to go the first Friday in January. Is there anything I can do to make sure that the mercury released when my amalgams are taken out doesn't go right to my brain? --------I think others have made suggestions such as Vit C IV's, but if you can't get those, then you should take alot of Vit C orally, spread throughout the day. My dentist told me to take 1 gram of Vit C every hour after removal. He also gave me activated charcoal before and after removal. Selenium is supposed to help bind up mercury so it can't do harm in the body. It doesn't chelate, but makes it less harmful to you. But it can be toxic at too high of levels, so be careful not to take too much. I think 300mcg a day is the recommended dose.--------Jackie I'm supplementing with several things. You might be surprised how much Vit C you tolerate. If it doesn't give you diahrrea, then it's not too much and you're body is using it. You could probably take 2 grams with each meal and at bedtime. You could also take more Vit E, like another 400 IU at dinner. Antioxidants are very important. And you also don't mention magnesium. Most of us are low on many minerals, especially magnesium.------------Jackie Before Bed - an SSRI for anxiety and Amitryptiline (sp) for sleep. -----------I think others have given suggestions, but remember anxiety may be a sign of adrenal problems, and hormonal imbalances can affect sleep also. I think insomnia flared up for me during amalgam removal also. So hang in there, January is coming, and you'll get the rest of those amalgams out and can start chelating. 2008 is going to be a good year, I can feel it.---------Jackie Mike ._,_.___ Messages in this topic (1) Reply (via web post) | Start a new topic Messages MARKETPLACE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Earn your degree in as few as 2 years - Advance your career with an AS, BS, MS degree - College-Finder.net. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fed Lowers Rates Again - $270,000 Mortgage for $1,498/Mo.
