Guest guest
Hil, I am so sorry you are having so many doubts of the upcoming surgery. This is quite normal. I went through all those fears too. Please think of this surgery of a good thing. You will get rid of that awful stricture problem. Then after your recouperation you will have a normal life with the bowels. Sound like it is scar tissue. I am so sorry that you are having to deal with that. What had caused my blockage when I was in the hospital was scar tissue. Yes, I can fully undertand the fear of scar tissue happening again. I fear it too. But look at the bright side. They are getting it taken care of. Then life will be better for you. I am Praying for you!!! Ingrid > I went to my surgeon appt yesterday and feel like I am starting this whole thing from the beginning again. Just hope it turns out better this time. Since I had not gone to bathroom in a week I thought the possiblility of him sending me right to hospital but thankfully Tuesday night something opened up and has not stopped since:) I got him to give me a couple weeks to get a few things done unless I have any problems I will have surgery on 8/22. I also was not aware until yesterday a spot is showing up in my neck. It does not show on the Pet scan but on the CT scan and he says he is not concerned with it right now. He also told me the colon part did not light up that bright on the Pet scan which might be good sign. They have no idea if this is scar tissue or cancer. Unfortunately because of my striture there is no other way but surgery to get in there to see so he is planning on a resect again. My cancer was colon and recturm but good news is he thinks enough of my recturm left for him to redo. Since I can't take a laxative I will be on clear liquid diet for three days and take a small amount of laxative every day. I am two years older now and since first surgery discovered irregular heart beats so being put on a med along with my regular blood pressure meds to help prevent a heart attack during surgery because I am diabetic. They just adds to my anxiety which is going top speed right now. I should have just gone in this week and got it over with as truthfully I am scared. I have a big tendency to grow scar tissue and am full of it now. It took two hours more then they thought for my last surgery because of it. Now I wonder if I continue to keep getting more how many more times will I have to have surgery:) If my last surgeon had taken care of this striture over a year ago when he was told he needed to it may not have closed up like this and giving me no choice but surgery. At times I feel like calling him and telling him a few things! At some point I am sure I will. > > Hil > > >
Guest guest
well sounds like things are moving right along. I guess once you get the surgery done on the 22nd you will know for sure what is down there. Good luck. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Guest guest
Oh Hil, I am so sorry you are having to go through both the operation again and the anxiety. Looks like there isn't much choice. I offer you continued prayers. Karima My surgery date. I think:) I went to my surgeon appt yesterday and feel like I am starting this whole thing from the beginning again.
