Guest guest
Hi and all, A little known remedy that I've found to be helpful is: Alka Seltzer Gold. It comes in a deep yellow/gold colored box. 6 tablets taken in 3 two tablet doses...one right after each other, with 2 tablets at a time being dissolved in only a little bit of water might help. Often times, itching and food allergies occur when the body becomes more acidic. Alka Seltzer Gold helps to neutralize. The original remedy combined the Alka Seltzer with liquid Milk of Magnesia (I don't remember how much). The milk of magnesia was to help eliminate any toxins or allergic substances. Supposedly Alka Seltzer Gold doesn't have all the bad stuff that other Alka Seltzers have. If anyone tries it, I hope you'll let us know if it works. Best, Zoey Re: Update, etc. Dear Sherlock - I can trust my kittie cats! Don't ever trust the city council wherever you live..... LOL! I gag even when using the tap water here to rinse my teeth after brushing. It's BAAAAAAD! Yes, refrain from taking the ibuprofen until you get all this gum- shoeing worked out. Maybe allergy to ibuprofen is a very RARE side effect, but regardless, it sure scared the crap out of ME! We were living 11 miles up into a Rocky Mtn canyon, above Boulder and Golden - probably north of where Elaine is now. With totally iced-up roads, there was no way I could get to a hospital. I had an old script of Inderal laying around and took about 40 mg of that (wasn't on it full time then). It calmed the heart down, which helped. But I was still on the bathroom floor trying to figure out which end to stick in the commode, then decided why bother. I had to ride it out for several hours. I didn't even know about benadryl back then. Let us know what you come up with. This saga is getting interesting. Hope your hives are gone by now. Guest guest
Yikes! I don't want to try it - YOU try it! hahahaha! Thanks Zoey, but ummmm, that sounds explosive. I am interested in the allergies occuring when the body is more acidic. Thanks for the info. I don't mind the milk of magnesia, in fact it is a good source of magnesium, but I never got along with Alka Seltzer at all. Anybody else up for this? Sherlock? Guest guest
Hey I have tried it, Alk Gold, it works, and isn't all that bad. Way better than the itching. I used to get crazy itching on my wrists...so bad I couldn't sleep. Alka Seltzer Gold fixed it. Eventually I was able to trace it to the dentist and from there, figured out that I was having an allergic response to Eugenol. Eugenol is frequently used in crown cements and other dental preparations. Many people are sensitive to it. Have a good weekend, Zoey Re: Itching remedy Yikes!
