She does have muscle aches in her lower back, hips and legs. She also is feeling a slight pain from time to time at the back of her head. Her hair is starting to thin a little which freaks her out, but so far nothing major. Her first treatment at the oncologist lasted over 5 hours and the 2nd one was over 4 hours so bring a good book or something cause you'll be there for a while. She is handling it all pretty well. She keeps saying " I'm NOT going to let this take my life over or control me!! " She a very strong woman, I'm not sure if I would be handling it as well as she is, but hey as far as the thinning hair, I'm way ahead of that game........... Dan & Way to Go!!! It sounds like both of you are just doing fine!!! Keep up the good fight...that lil is a feisty one, isn't she?? That's o.k. sweetie...you keep telling that nasty ole Cancer and that nasty ole chemo that they are NOT taking control of YOUR body!!! Hoping the aches and pains subside, tho. Tell that Glenn's hair thinned quite a bit on top, but he still has hair!! What's really weird is we've noticed the hair on his eyebrows is no longer reddish grayish blonde, but rather a dark brown totally...no gray!! The hair in his beard no longer has any red either...all brown with some gray. The hair on his head is mostly dark brown, still thin, with no red at all and no gray!!! Guest guest
Donelle, I'm just ready to get to bed and saw your post. First I'm so sorry about what's happening with Glenn, I really feel for both of you, your posts touch me so much. And about the hearing aids. My mom can hear much better using them, it's remarkable. They work well in the house, you can talk in a normal voice from across the room and she can hear, before you could stand behind her and talk and she didnt hear a thing. She tried them in the car last night and at bingo. Pretty good in the car, but buzzed at bingo, too many sounds I guess, but thank you so so much. It'll be nice that she can be a part of conversations now and hear what's going on. Thank you!! She has finished her chemo for now. Then she had a PET scan and the same spots showed in her chest, they think lymph nodes but probably not cancer as the size is the same as in her other PET scan. The onc. said she could have surgery to find out, but her surgeon (and us) dont want her to do this yet, as she has pulmonary embolisms when she has surgery, she's 85 years old too. So he is going to give her another colonoscopy Thursday, hopefully that will be good, and then a PET scan some time later to watch these spots. She's glad to be off chemo finally. I'll let everyone know how she turns out. Thanks again fof the hearing aids, you're a special special person. ~~Dianna Grandmommyandme@... wrote: In a message dated 7/19/2005 10:33:17 PM Eastern Standard Time, daniel111@... writes: I don't know from first hand experience but my wife is on doing the Folfox 6 with the Oxaliplatin.
