Guest guest
We all know DMSA chelates mercury and lead. But what else does it do? Why would it eliminate my longstanding case of bloating and flatulence? Why does it act like an antidepressant? Why does my whole being seem more vibrant and yet more relaxed all at the same time? What the heck is sulfur doing? Why does it feel like a massive drug withdrawal beginning about 20 hours after a final dose? How can sulfur have such power? I don't know, it just seems clear to me that there is a lot more going on with DMSA than just chelation. I found an abstract at pubmed.com where a patient with treatment resistant depession experienced profound rapid improvement on DMSA. And it's not even remotely considered an antidepressant. Weird. Maybe sulfur is bad for some people, and maybe it is real good for others. And likely there is something else going on with DMSA completely separate from its sulfur action or its chelating action. Does it do something for the liver? For the immune system? I mean, how can something improve digestion, energy, wellbeing, mood, socializing, sleep, everything in about 3 days flat, with no side effects. That's unheard of. And when that something is stopped, the withdrawal feels worse than heroin or adderall or an antipsychotic or anything. Powerful stuff, whatever DMSA is. Oh, and while most agree that DMSA does not cross the blood brain barrier, I swear it feels like it does. Maybe not in a normal healthy person, but from what I have read, the barrier is damaged by mercury. So maybe? I suspect many people who suffer DMSA related depression, either on it or getting off it, are not feeling the effects of redistribution, though resdistribution is probably happening, but they are feeling something else going on with DMSA. In any case, the mysteries of DMSA's untold mechanisms are puzzling me. I am not convinced that merely removing a small amount of mercury and lead with just 4 rounds of a wee little bit of 12.5mg DMSA could possibly explain the benefits I get from it. Something else going on. Your thoughts?
