Guest guest
Hi Aldyth, I'd listen to your doctor but watch carefully for symptoms. As long as you're remaining on at least 2.5 mg of the ATD, you should be able to remain euthyroid. Your TSH at 5.98 should not be totally suppressed with the dose reduction he suggested. Even if your levels were to start climbing, which you'd notice by checking your heart rate now and then, they shouldn't climb into a danger zone before your next appt. Judging from your history and disease course, I wouldn't expect the levels to rise into the hyperthyroid range. It's good to be cautious, but when on ATDs, you avoid side effects by staying on the lowest dose needed to bring your thyroid hormone levels into the normal range.
