We're going on Saturday!! It was part of DD1's Christmas present and it

took me a whole, very hungover morning after DH's office Christmas party, to

get tickets. I'm *really* looking foward to it! who were the

support acts, and what time did Robbie come on stage? Can't find this info

anywhere locally, and DD1 is determined that we should be at Old Trafford

for doors opening at 4:30 and won't be convinced that Robbie won't appear

till *much* later...

ABC came on at 6:30 Shoot that poison arrow to my heaaarrttt...followed by a

half hour break and then Toploader came on at about 7:30ish Dancing in the

moonlight.... and then Robbie came on at 8:45 but didn't come on until 9:30

on the previous night apparently. Well advice is - don't bother going too

early - its a sitting around experience for the eager ones. The groupies

will get to the front at ALL costs and will barge through - so even if you

get a ring side seat at 4:30 watch out!! We sat on the banks of the Bowl

until the first hit of ABC - they were approximately 1.2cm high. Mmmmmm I

thought! I need a bigger Robbie! So we went and stood at the back of the

first bank of people which wasn't THAT bad but then magnetism drew us into

the crowd and we managed to get about a 100 people back from the stage.

This was achieved by a vacuum basis - if people moved out (which they did in

between bands) - we moved in. There are definitely 'banks' within the main

crowd and it was not too bad. The first band around the stage are tightly

packed - we got to the edge of this - the second band of people do not want

to be as crushed and you can walk through them fairly easily if you are

ballsy. Everybody was standing by Toploader's record - even up the banks

apparently. The front crowd stood about an hour before ABC came on. Weird

phenomena for me - never been to this size gig before. Sound and effects

were brilliant - burgers, hot dogs you name it all for about £3, bottled

water at £1.20 and check out the Robbie sweatshirt for £50.00. Robbie was

FANTASTIC. (and about 2 and a half inches high!!) but well worth it.

Have a great time

Chris
