In the boxes of the citric acid and sodium bicarbonate it was said the product is OK for human consumption. In the box of potassium bicarbonate nothing was said but the kind woman who attended me said, after checking it in its computer, that the product was completely pure and safe. Well, it is not the same as buying the stuff in a pharmacy, but it is the best I have found. > > Other questions: > Also, how much is usually taken of this mixture? And how often? > > --------The box says to dissolve in 4oz of water. For adults and children over 12, it says 2 >tablets every 4 hours as needed, or as directed by a doctor, do not exceed 8 tablets in 24 >hours. Adults 60+, do not exceed 6 tablets in 24 hours. Children under 12 years of age, 1 tablet >every 4 hours, do not exceed 4 tablets in 24 hours. Well, I only have the experience of three days. The first one I used one tsp. of the mixture and it worked fine for the whole day. The second day I didn't take it and I was foggy again. Today, I used 1/2 tsp. and the brain fog wasn't removed, so I took another 1/2 or so and it has worked fine, also for the whole day. I think 1tsp is about 4 grams, so I would say 2 grams is enough for me (probably I should buy a balance!). I don't know for how long this will work, but after a long period of being very foggy, I feel very optimistic! > > In AI, Andy doesn't give any dosage recommendations. Although there is no citrate in the powder, when you put it in water citrates are formed (you can see the formula of the reaction if you search Alka Seltzer in wikipedia). But for me is the same mystery if it is due to the citrates or to something else. I am also curious about this and would appreciate any further understanding. > > > Are there any digestive disturbances that can result or other side effects? > > -----------It is alkalizing, so I find it very soothing to the stomach, so I would think it shouldn't >cause problems, but then we're all different.
