Thanks for the recipe .

We also cannot get Alka-Seltzer gold and that recipe is great.

Is there anything missing from It?

Also, I hope that the products are pharmaceutical grade??? Very important.

Other questions:

Also, how much is usually taken of this mixture? And how often?

And why does it remove brain fog and for how long?

Are there any digestive disturbances that can result or other side effects?

Thanks,

Dean

----------I am so glad this is working for you !--------Jackie

Thanks for the recipe .

We also cannot get Alka-Seltzer gold and that recipe is great.

Is there anything missing from It?

--------Dean, here is the ingredient list from the box:

Anhydrous citric acid 1000mg

Potassium bicarbonate 344mg

Sodium bicarbonate (heat-treated) 1050mg

Inactive ingredients: magnesium stearate, mannitol

Says each tablet contains 135mg of potassium and 309mg of sodium

These amounts are per tablet, but they come in packets with 2 tablets each, so

doubling the above should be fine also. I always take both if I take

it.-------Jackie

Also, I hope that the products are pharmaceutical grade??? Very important.

Other questions:

Also, how much is usually taken of this mixture? And how often?

--------The box says to dissolve in 4oz of water. For adults and children

over 12, it says 2 tablets every 4 hours as needed, or as directed by a doctor,

do not exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours. Adults 60+, do not exceed 6 tablets in 24

hours. Children under 12 years of age, 1 tablet every 4 hours, do not exceed 4

tablets in 24 hours.

In AI, Andy doesn't give any dosage recommendations. I know it has been

discussed many times in the groups, so searching archives should come up with

something. Most of his responses would be in A-M.---------Jackie

And why does it remove brain fog and for how long?

-------You'll have to ask the chemists this one.-----------Jackie

Are there any digestive disturbances that can result or other side effects?

-----------It is alkalizing, so I find it very soothing to the stomach, so I

would think it shouldn't cause problems, but then we're all different. I can't

recall hearing any bad things about it, but searching archives would probably be

a good idea.-------Jackie

Thanks,

Dean

I hope too! In the boxes of the citric acid and sodium bicarbonate it

was said the product is OK for human consumption. In the box of

potassium bicarbonate nothing was said but the kind woman who attended

me said, after checking it in its computer, that the product was

completely pure and safe. Well, it is not the same as buying the stuff

in a pharmacy, but it is the best I have found.

Well, I only have the experience of three days. The first one I used one

tsp. of the mixture and it worked fine for the whole day. The second day

I didn't take it and I was foggy again. Today, I used 1/2 tsp. and the

brain fog wasn't removed, so I took another 1/2 or so and it has worked

fine, also for the whole day.

I think 1tsp is about 4 grams, so I would say 2 grams is enough for me

(probably I should buy a balance!). I don't know for how long this will

work, but after a long period of being very foggy, I feel very

optimistic!

In AI Andy says it is because of the citrate. Although there is no

citrate in the powder, when you put it in water citrates are formed (you

can see the formula of the reaction if you search Alka Seltzer in

wikipedia). But for me is the same mystery if it is due to the citrates

or to something else. I am also curious about this and would appreciate

any further understanding.

I have not found any kind of side effect, but don't know what will

happen in the long term.
