Guest guest
Hi all...sorry I never got around to posting after my colonoscopy last Thursday. The weekend was a whirlwind of activity. Anyway... My doc said that for the most part everything looked very good. He did have to biopsy a few sites and I'll go back in another week to get those results. Keep your finger crossed. I'm expecting it to be nothing, as the doc didnt' seem concerned. But, there is always a little worry, especially since my family has the Non Polyp colorectal cancer. I go in for an ultrasound on the 23rd to check for gall stones etc. I'm still in pain and feeling sick so hopefully we'll find an answer soon. =/ The weird thing is that I was awake and mostly alert through the entire colonoscopy and endoscopy. I mean alert enough that I remember it and watched it on the screen. Well, I was turned away from the screen for the endoscopy. The endo was miserable...way worse than the colonoscopy. It hurt like hell and I gagged on it the whole time. I was trying to tell them I needed more versed but, my efforts were thwarted by the stupid thing down my throat. Ugh. I plan to discuss this with my doc in my follow up. I don't think there is any reason they should have done that while I was awake and alert. I was in recovery for about 10 minutes (long enough for them to get three blood pressures) and then walked out (with my husband) and 2 blocks away to where the car was parked on my own. Obviously I lived through it...but I just feel like I shouldn't have had to go through it like that...talk about discouragement to go back and have my nextone done in 1-3 years. Ugh... Sorry to complain...such a trivial thing to gripe about to all of YOU. =/ Thanks for all the prayers and support. I'll let ya know how the biopsies come back. =)
