Guest guest
Thanks, Debbie. Your story is very encouraging, I hope mine ends as well as yours. I have my first ultrasound next Monday. I can hardly wait! I doubt I'll be able to make out anything other than a pinto bean sized blob, but it will be cool to see the little fella (or lady). Guest guest
Tori, Congrats!! on the pregnancy. I became pregnant on TAP, it wasn't planned we had tried for years and just didn't think I could get pregnant again. My first two pregnancies were no problem. I was put on 600 mg. of PTU, I went to my endo once a month and my ob/gyn once a week. My endo reduced my PTU over time until I believe it was 50 mg. daily. They scheduled four different ultrasounds that were high tech to watch mainly for the baby to get a goiter. At the time the state of Ohio only had two of these. They measured his legs, arms, head and torso to make sure he was growing right and by this they could get an approx. weight. We could actually see what he looked like before he was born, hair and all. Please understand I had other complications not related to graves disease so this is why I went to my ob/gyn once a week. When I found out I was pregnant I was also suprised and scared. My endo didn't use the TSH as a judging point for PTU. She said that as long as I had been hyper it could take a long time for the TSH to read above 0. Which we finally had a reading this summer and I've been off PTU for two years. I had a very healthy beautiful boy who had an apgar score of 9. Enjoy your pregnancy. Debbie R.
