Guest guest
DS1 started at a new school on Wednesday - Jr High! He came home with a request for photographs so that he could make a poster about himself - he needed them from different aspects of his life to show what a well-rounded All American boy he is (not!) - due in today. Now, since buying a digital camera when dd2 was born, we haven't taken any real photos. And we just have them on the internet, so don't bother with hard copies. So I was in a real quandry about what to do - ds, on the other hand, didn't seem bothered at all as he knew mum would save the day. So, we selected some photos, took an up to date one, and put them on disc to take to our local pharmacy where they have a special machine for doing prints from digital. But, it was going to be $7 a print! Thinking this was a total waste of money, I ended up going out last night to buy a colour printer along with fancy photo paper, which at least had some future potential. Do these teachers ever think about the efforts *parents* have to go to for the child's homework? Did our parents ever have to do this - I can't remember my parents ever getting involved in school - and they certainly never had to produce *specific* photos on demand. Roll on June!
