Guest guest
Hi guys I am so dazed right now that I am not sure if I wrote to you since Amy's surgery. If I did, please forgive me. This just seems to be somewhat comforting to write you all and read your responses. Amy surgery was 4 1/2 hours long yesterday. They were unable to remove the new tumour in her colon so they did a bypass of the tumour and she did not have to get a colostomy bag. They found quite a bit of new growth but we expected that as we had recently heard that last week. The same surgery team that did her resection last year worked on her so she was very confident in them before she went in. They were unable to give her an epidural due to her spinal lesions so she is extremely bad pain. She ended up being in Recovery for 4 hours as they could not get the pain mangament under control. She is in the ICU right now with some wonderful nurses that she had last year. They are concerned about infection because Amy is on so much morphine right now she isn't too coherent. She is unable to sit up, cough, clear her lungs. She has a morph pump right now but because she was on such a high level of morphine before her body is quite used to it. It is so heartwrenching to see her in so much pain. We are all ready to let her know that if she has had enough we will support her 100%. We are hoping for a smooth recovery and praying for NO infections. Thank you for all of your support. Peta
