Guest guest
I am in and out and I've been out. A TIA is a transient ischemic attack. I have seen it referred to as a pre-stroke, a small stroke and other manner of stuff. Mostly it is a piece of something that is there and then gone that disrupts blood flow to the brain. Literally, a brain blip (or a brain fart if you will). It does not show up on a CT scan, being there then gone. If the effects last a day or less it is considered only a TIA. If the effects last longer than that, clinically it is considered a stroke. Some of our more learned, professionals on the board may want to add to this? I don't mean to make light of myself because it can be serious but I tend not to take myself too seriously. I just hope not to end up a drooling mess with knarly old arthritic hands and no teeth. Who happens not to be able to breathe well. On the other hand I got a haircut and 5 new pairs of shoes yesterday! Life is good on this end. They didn't know why it grew so fast and I really don't care. It's just yet another thing that hurts that I have to live with. > > > > Then I was priviledged to ride in one of the special pretty red buses this afternoon from the doctor's office and spend a little time in the big house. I had another TIA but thankfully that is all it was. The doctor let me come home to rest instead of making me stay overnight. They don't fool around if they even suspect stroke. But all is well. My voice is returning to normal and my head does not hurt much. > > > > Bruce glad to read your move went well. > > > > We nearly got hailed to hell around here yesterday. And there were a few funnels that formed but nothing touched the ground in Lubbock. Gotta love West Texas in the springtime. Sherman's car had one little place where the hail went through his backup light but that is not bad for what collected in the backyard. > > > > The dogs were funny running around the backyard in the icewater. Henry, who is a labrador, came to realize he is a water dog. Funny stuff. > > > > Hope all have a good weekend. > > S, Lubbock, TX > > NSIP w/PF 12/2006 et al > > > Hello , > My name is and I am new to the group. I have IPF and Bronchectsis dx in 2003.
