I know this has been covered recently but I think I missed most of the

replies (yahoo seems to be playing up considerably and as a quick digest sort

of girl I don't always have time to go into the file and read on-line)- can

anyone give me a quick run-down on what early tests for foetal abnormalities

are available now? Travel into London is possible, as is private

consultations (if necessary!!).

At 11 weeks you can have a nuchal fold scan, if anything unusual is

found the consultant may suggest a CVS which is invasive, but has the

same certainty as an amnio. except a lot earlier. I think several

hospitals offer it now - dk about Addenbrookes - but you can pay for

it privately. I had a nuchal scan at Kings College in London when I

was pregnant with Ben. (The scan costs around £100 I think).

Should I be offering congratulations on anything else apart form the

move?
