Guest guest
To me one of the joys of nct-coffee is and has been that we have been able to discuss just about any topic under the sun, ask for help, have a good laugh and a moan and be received with kindness and sympathy. We all come from different walks of life and have many different experiences which we are prepared to share to a greater or lesser extent. There are people who have had or are suffering with PND or the opposite side of the coin Postnatal euphoria, some who have had traumatic births and others who have had 'perfect' homebirths. We have women who have had high flying careas and others who have chosen to stay at home and have babies. Oh gosh we also have the occasional man who have contributed with excellent points that make us sit back and think. We freely discuss anything from new pregnancies to the trial and tribulations of secondary infertility. Our health problems, our childrens health problems, the highs and lows of their achievements from first teeth and potty sitting to exam results. Apart from bondage I can not see anything that we have not touched on. Where when you are considering a major or minor life change do you turn for 'advice'. If fed up who else will say 'I know just what you mean'. So why the long ramble - well recently there seems to be far less tolerance and more hurt feelings. We don't always put on our handles our particular downfall but our common denominator is that we are all parents (or about to be) struggling to do our very best for our children and we are not perfect and if perhaps you have never had sleepless nights, sat up all night worrying over a sick child, had a partner come home and wonder what you have been doing all day, suffered an illjudged comment from someone who should know better or tried to buy a piece of equipment, found a joke that made you hoot that you want to share, had computer problems or fancied electric pylons then this is not the place for you but hang about maybe one day you may just suddenly find one of those things and guess what ...we will be here for you. One last thing (Well done if you got this far) while on holiday dd1 (aged 9) wet her bed..she was very upset " I dreamt I flushed the toilet mummy " I said to never mind darling we've all had that dream, we'll strip your bed and you come and sleep with me. In the morning we met my cousin in the corridor and I said 'Poor F had an accident last night. She had " THAT DREAM " My cousins daughter 20 (who my girls adore) looked at F with wide eyes , crossed her legs and said " OH NO NOT THE TOILET FLUSHING DREAM " . This is virtual coffee - be good to yourselves and good to others! Oh Caroline, this was *so* timely. DD2 wet her bed this morning - she has recently turned 12 - and yes, it was that dream!!! Not bad tho', this is only the second wet bed from her - *ever*! :-) She was mortified - until I told her I'd done it too. She's at a friends house, when she gets home I must remember to show her your mail thanks Sue
