Z. has Edema

Hello all "air family" members....the

latest wrinkle in my ever changing condition.

In spite of the HCTZ 50mg daily that I have been taking since leaving

the hospital in March

I have developed full blown Edema!!!! All as a result of the mega

dosing of Prednisone in the Hospital! Great!!

I had gotten back to my normal 10 mg 5 weeks ago.( going from 60 slowly

back to 10).but the stuff still is causing havoc!

My GP has put me on another stronger diuretic for 5 days( this

happened yesterday!)

with instructions to really watch salt ( I have not added salt to

anything since I have no taste or smell) and to keep an

eye on carbs too! Seems that carbs can make Edema worse!!! This all now

explains why my bras have not fit, why

slacks that fit in March don't fit and why even socks and shoes have

not fit right!!!I have felt SOB.

..the Sat numbers however were fine.He heard fluid in the lung area and

he was very concerned.

I'm supposed to take it easy, drink more than usual,

keep taking the Potassium supplements and keep my legs up as much as

possible!!

Now..of course all this is really doable.

...but I had to watch Sara today so and Mike could go to see the

lawyer!!!

So, After a 5 hour babysitting stint..(She did nap for 2 hours).I am

sitting here..feet up and trying to take it easy.

I loved every minute of my

time with Sara...but Wow am I beat!!!
