Yesterday was the party for DD1 (Grace - 3 on Tuesday) As a special treat I invited all the children who will be in her class at Kindergarten. On Thursday I found myself ringing around 1/2 doz to see if they were coming or not - in fact I got one reply on the morning if the party itself - aaaaggghhh! The party went so well, despite Grace waking at 4.30am to ask if Stevie Sausage (the entertainer) had arrived yet! For the fact I had 25 3-4 year ols here it went quite smoothly. Luckily for us all the weather stayed fine until about 4pm, last child had left and all the clearing up had been done. As I am meant to be having complete rest we hired an enteratiner who did everything (include provide party bags!)bar feed the kids (bit expensive but under the circumstances worth every penny) We set up the birthday lunch as a picnic in the garden - lots of blankets on floors, plenty of sarnies, sausages (sorry vegi's!), chicken nuggets, fairy cakes and crisps, a quick run around and then back indoors for the magic show and the rabbit! To see my Grace's face was worth all the recent heart ache and arguing with doctors. I couldn't stop smiling and crying (darn hormones again!) The kids were all so well behaved I suppose it helped having a central focal point (and someone used to dealing with lots of children - he was brill) Grace adored every minute and has spent all of today telling us about the magic wand, tapping, jumping jelly beans and the rabbit, 'Did you know I was magic mummy?' Certainly did sweetheart!! Beverly (having an indulgent mummy moment!)
