Guest guest
Pink Among the many many things water does it helps transport oxygen. As to how much we need to drink, there is much discussion of that now. Traditionally we were told things like 8 glasses a day. Then I read a site that says one ounce for each two pounds of body weight. The reality is it probably varies by individual and how our bodies process it. Doctors are now saying its not necessarily the same for everyone. However, I think most of us find hydration pretty important. It helps with many things, even sinuses. Now, if you're feeling an exceptional thirst and need for more, that's something to discuss with your doctor as it can be a sign of other problems. > > > > > > > > > > Hi, > > > > > I'm not certain at all why that happens but what you describe > has > > > been > > > > happening to me since prior to my diagnosis. Guest guest
Hey there I KNOW this one well although it's been laying off lately.... involuntary gasping for breath.. I actually found it talked about somewhere on the Web... definite respiratory symptom.. it's the body recognizing an immdeiate need for an increase of O2 apparently.... VERY Weird when it happens I agree! I have not tested positive for RA but did have lung studies and have been diagnosed with pulmonay fibrosis. I am now experiencing something strange which can't get a satisfactory answer for. At rest I suddenly have a spasm of my diaphragm with causes me to take a sudden rapid deep breath. I have no control over this and it is getting painful. Any ideas of what is happening. Guest guest
Good question. My lung surgeon was talking about a bi-lateral transplant when I first met him in May 07. In Aug. 07 when I made the transplant list it was just for one lung, which I believe was a result of the Transplant Team revaiew of all my records. I suspect it was partly because of my age-transplant was 8/22/07 and I will be 70 on 4/17/09. Also, I suspect they thought it would quicker to get me one lung rather than 2, but I never asked. I got the left lung transplant just 9 days after getting on the list. I still have IPF in my right lung, but am not on oxygen; and my doctor said my left lung is doing all the work and doing a great job.
