This has been my first month in 12 years not on birth control pills. I'm

due to start my period any day now, and I've been so HYPER since Saturday

I'm ready to pull my hair out. My heart rate is up to around 90 (it's

normally around 60), I've slept MAYBE 2 hours each of the last two nights.

I'm shaking all over. This may not be related to going off the birth

control, but I remember several people on this list mentioning that they

feel hyper before their periods, so that's my first thought. I never had

any fluctuations in how I felt throughout the month when I was on the pill.

Now I'm scared to death that I've set myself back about a year in my

recovery -- just when I was convinced that I was ready for another drop in

my dosage.

Will this go away? Will being this hyper have a lasting impact on my

treatment schedule? Should I increase my ATD? I'm so disappointed. I hate

to think I've messed with something I shouldn't have. Especially after all

the fighting I had to go through when I made the decision to go off the

pill.

Elaine, which hormone is higher right before your period -- estrogen or

progestin? If I ever had a question as to the effect of hormones on the

thyroid, I don't now. This is really freaking me out. Last week I was sure

I'd gone hypo again, and now this...

Somewhat panicked....

endo appt. on the 20th)
