Guest guest
I'm sorry I don't have a remedy for you and haven't had this myself, but I noticed that this started to happen since you've added in ALA the last few rounds, according to what you said. And I'm curious, do you have any other metals, besides mercury, like arsenic? Tingling and numbness are arsenic symptoms too. Also, DMSA doesn't chelate arsenic, but ALA does, so maybe that has something to do with it?--------Jackie In frequent-dose-chelation kyrrefoerli wrote: Lately (that is, the last 2-3 weeks) my fingertips have become increasingly sore. I have 'always' had a tingling feeling, or feeling of slight numbness in my fingertips (on and off), since I started chelating about 9 months ago (I'm currently about 10 months past amalgam removal). Also, my left index finger has developed some hard, dry skin. It started looking like a burn, which I'm quite sure it wasn't, then it cracked, and then 'healed'. Now it seems that the same is about to happen with the right index finger(tip) and the left middle finger. Chelation has mostly been DMSA (now at 33 mg every 4 hours), but I have done 3 rounds with DMSA+ALA the last month or so; still have a hard time tolerating ALA. I'm takeing the 'usual' supplements and not quite in the amounts suggested in AI (less); vitamins and minerals. Added some potassium just before christmas to help with muscle restitution (seems to help). Anyone else with/had this problem ? Any suggestions ? Remedy ? - Kyrre
Guest guest
I don't know of any other metals, haven't tested for any. The tingling/numbness has been present also when I have been using DMSA only, but the soreness and dryness is new. How do I know if I have arsenic ? Should I not use ALA ? I mean - if I have arsenic I would want to get it out. If it doesn't get any worse and finally disappears I can handle it. What test can I take to check for arsenic ? - Kyrre > > Lately (that is, the last 2-3 weeks) my fingertips have become > increasingly sore. > I have 'always' had a tingling feeling, or feeling of slight numbness > in my fingertips (on and off), > since I started chelating about 9 months ago (I'm currently about 10 > months past amalgam removal). > Also, my left index finger has developed some hard, dry skin. Guest guest
A hair elements test from DDI. DMSA is what you'd use for arsenic. People toxic with mercury are usually toxic in more than one metal, so it's not uncommon. Mercury does cause symptoms like this, I am not sure if you had them before amalgam removal or not. But mercury, arsenic, thallium and some other metals can cause these symptoms..the tingling, numbness anyway. I don't know about the soreness. If the soreness is the skin..which would go along with the dryness, cracking etc..you may look at fungal causes. Metal toxic people are prone to fungal infections and any infection for that matter. I found that after chelation, I had problems with rashes and was more sensitive to lotions and stuff. I had to stop using regular antiperspirant because the aluminum in it made my underarms red, burning and peeling. I used the same kind before removal just fine. But now...sensitive to many things. I also use liquid grapefruit seed extract to clean the skin if I think it might be fungal or yeast related like that. Don't forget the thyroid, this makes skin problems but also can cause numbness and tingling in the extremities. Many times when you begin chelation, a few months into it you find you need adrenal/thyroid support. Also increasing vit A and E can help skin heal. You can cut back on the ALA or go to dmsa only rounds for a while to see if that helps reduce this also. This symptoms might disappear with chelation anyway...but I can't promise. I know I had peripheral neuropathy before I began chelation. My doctor did not have a clue why I had that being I was in my 20's and not diabetic. However...my last visit with him..I presented with no peripheral neuropathy and my reflexes which were " missing " are there again. A week or so after I had my fillings out..I was sitting at my desk and my feet began to burn like crazy. I was like " OMG what is that? " and within a minute or so it stopped and my feet got a warm feeling in them. After having ice feet with blue toe nails for years, finally they were warm with pink toe nails. They have stayed that way since that happen. I did have numbness, tingling, burning in my feet before amalgam removal. I had numbness and tingling in my hands before also. Both are gone. I did not have symptoms of this with chelation rounds though. Hang in there..hope this helps. > > I don't know of any other metals, haven't tested for any.
