Guest guest
My Dad just saw his Radiation Oncologist at Stanford today -- he has a large 10cm peritoneal met in his right abdomen that has been giving him more pain lately. He also has lung mets that have stabilized from the Avastin regimen. My Dad will be getting radiation 15mins each day for 4 weeks. His Rad Onc said this treatment may eradicate the entire mass or at the least, reduce it to rid of the pain. His Rad Onc said the side effects are non-existent except for may be slight sunburn in the localized area. He also said it won't interfere with Avastin treatments so if my Dad's protein levels are normal again, they will resume Avastin and radiation simultaneously. Has anyone here experience radiation treatments with abdominal mets from colon cancer? Are there any side effects? THank you for your help! Best, Nickie __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Nickie, I cannot answer your questions. Hopefully someone here can. The Onc seems to feel that this radiation will get rid of the mass or at least shrink it. That would be wonderful. I am sending some Prayers for your dad.
