Guest guest
I am pleased with Lincare but I was very careful to talk at length to my local office before switching. As Beth said recently, a whole lot depends on the manager of the office serving you. Now, I think some of the local providers are incredible and others not so good. On an overall national scale I think Lincare would probably grade a B or so, but there are some who have had issues with them. Meanwhile, the other major national provider is Apria and I'd probably rate them nationally a D. However, its a lot of the local office. Many here get excellent service from them and others get decent from them. Others have gotten horrible service from them and the BBB gives them an F. I would suggest you talk to the local manager of Lincare about your disease and your needs. Then decide if you're convinced they are committed to servicing all your needs. Check their site to see how close they are to you for the summer as well. Maybe talk to the manager there in advance as well. Make the relationship personal rather than you a piece of paper with a number on it. Peggy gets great service from Apria. I know it is because they love her. I'm serious. The know her and so it no longer is just a delivery business. Instead they want to be sure her needs are met. > > Hi all: I know many of you have used lincare and I recall Bruce writing a nice overview of carriers possible, but I don't recall what was said about Lincare specfically and I don't have the strength to look through old messages (I don't really know how to use this system anyway and I just got out of hospital for an unrelated problem and don't have strength back yet. We are leaving for the summer and my local carrier cannot suppy us for six months. Says we need to get CA medicare to do that????? But we have a fairly close Lincare and it could provide stopping places for more liquid. We want to leave next Monday. What is your opinion about going with Lincare? > > > I love reading all the messages and I'll get back later to tell you all how much information and support you have given me. Fay --I know I " m supposed to use a special sign off. I'll figure it out. >
