Guest guest
> > Hello, > I am new to the group. I am considering doing chelation with my 4 year old son. I am waiting on his hair test results (which I will be posting and asking for help:)). A number of us can look at his results and offer some feedback. Look for " How to post " in the files section. > I was reading through Andy's old posts, and I came across one post that talks about M-B12, folinic acid, DMG, and magnesium in possible combo with SAMe being able to chelate. I am currently doing this with my child. Does that mean that this will slowly chelate him (he has been showing improvement). Can you provide a link to that post? Andy recommends ALA with optional DMSA/DMPS to chelate mercury. The supplements you mention support methylation and can improve symptoms in someone whose methylation pathway is not working well, but they do not chelate. > Does DMSA or ALA potentially harm the liver or kidney? Most protocols use high, infrequent doses of chelators. This type of dosing can cause damage to liver, kidney, and other sensitive areas. The damage is not caused by the chelators themselves, it is due to redistribution of metals into these areas by improper dosing. The protocol discussed here minimizes redistribution by using frequent dosing to maintain a steady blood level. The steady level of chelator keeps metals moving out of the body instead of redistributing to sensitive areas. Low doses keep side effects to a minimum. You will find more information on this safe protocol in the files section. > Sorry for all the questions, I am still researching. This chelation stuff is a little scary:) The scary chelation stories result from use of unsafe protocols. You won't find a safer method than the low, frequent dose protocol recommended here. Good luck with your research and let us know if you have more questions. -- > >

No, none of those will chelate. Does DMSA or ALA potentially harm the liver or kidney? ====>Dmsa is a little hard on the liver and kidneys but with Andy's low/frequent dosing, that is minimized. Ala is actually good for everything, so if you're leary, try just Ala. Dmsa does speed up the clearance and is needed for lead removal, just fyi. Sorry for all the questions, I am still researching. This chelation stuff is a little scary:) ====>We were the same, read and read until you're comfortable.
