Guest guest
Yes, I experience the same thing. My nose is less stuffed up when I am chelating with ALA. Sense of smell improved, too. I figure it there will be a long-term improvement after many more rounds of ALA. (I'm now on my 7th round of ALA). -----Katharine seashell_555 seashell_555@...> wrote: Ok, just completed an ala round and for the second time on a round I noticed I could breathe so much easier. It was NICE! It's one of those things you can't pinpoint as a problem until its better. Once the round was done it went away unfortunately. Anybody understand this? Thanks, val

Are you a person who can't do sulfur foods? What dose are you on. Guest guest
Hi, In AI, Andy says that ALA does not suppress side effects and that's why he recommends taking DMSA along with it. I have not tried to do ALA alone. I am on 12.5 mg ALA/25 mg DMSA every 3 hours. My rounds are usually 5-6 days, with the same number of days off. ALA rounds have been pretty good. I do experience some minor side effects, such as headaches and lower back pain, some fatigue, and mood swings. I have had many positive effects since starting ALA. These include improved adrenal function (read sex hormones and libido) and memory. I also find myself having very vivid and complex dreams that often involve people I haven't thought of in many years. ALA is definitely doing _something_ in my brain. :-) As for sulfur foods, I don't have a clear answer on this one. It depends on the food. I can't tolerate eggs at all, but I can handle small amounts of beans/legumes. In an effort to combat yeast, I have recently started the SCD, so I am limiting beans and legumes anyway. I don't have a problem with mustard, which is very high sulfur. Hope this helps. In short, Andy's protocol works, and ALA works! ------Katharine cann7899 cann7899@...> wrote: , How has you ALA rounds gone. I haven't started. I was told they were side effecty/.
