Guest guest
Sorry for this - daft question coming up. Are we talking about the seat belt in the car that holds the child seat in place or the buckle that keeps the child in the seat? We have a Britax Supercruiser I think (bought a couple of years ago) and I can't picture how the buckle that straps the child in could touch the seat frame. OTOH, the seat belt of the car does touch the seat frame - it's the only way to put the seat in, I think. Would someone please put me out of my misery. Guest guest
its the car seat belt which is holding the seat in.... It really means on seats which have a metal frame under them (Britax Clubclass et al) where you use the 3 pt belt to secure the seat in and then the child in strapped into the seat with its own integral 5 pt belt. On the Clubclass there is an alternative threading which you can used if it buckle crunches in the normal position. I have found that if the little strap on the stalk end of the seatbelt is longer than an inch or so then its much easier to get a safe fit... problem in the Laguna. The other thing we have had to do is remove those annoying little plastic buttons onthe seat belts (which are there to stop the buckle falling down by the door where you can't reach it) as they prevent sufficient tightening. IIRC the Supercruiser is oneof the lightweight frameless seats where you use the 3pt belt to secure both child and seat in simultaneously... I don't think it applies to these (though some one will correct me (please) if I'm wrong. does this help? Angi, thanks for this. This conversation got me thinking/worrying and I checked the seat instructions. It is actually a Britax Freeway Excel. When I've got more time later this evening, I will re-read the instructions and check the fitting in the car. > well, I have been dropping heavy hints for WEEKS And congratulations!
