There is a calcium called " Coral Calcium " that is supposed

to be the most absorbant, makes you alakline, and also

natually has the right amount of cal/to mag in it. You

can get it in several forms, the one that mixes with water

sounds like the best becuase it should be even more

absorbable.

re: leg cramps:

> Sounds like hypo to me - hurry up with that thyroid function

I wil have it done on Tuesday. My endo doean't think that I could

be going hypo this quickly. My heart rate varies between low

(60s) and 90 (which feels wrong) so I think that I still am having

surges of leftover thyroid hormone - feel hot, etc. I expected this

but it doesn't make it easier.

I know how you felt. When I do too much, I pay for it the next day.

Mainly I feel like a heart patient, and incredibly out of shape. I

don't think that I'll be going back to my unsympathetic primary

care doctor, so I have to start over and find someone else, who

is not familiar with my story. But it has to be better than the PCP,

who resented my getting a second opinion about surgery vs. RAI.

Thanks, Aldyth!

I agree - it may be that recovering from being hyper takes longer

than the surgery itself. It seems to not be a straight line from

recovery to health. I'm an impatient person with bills that need

paying, but I can't rush things. It helps to have reassurance here!

Thanks and hugs!

surgery. I'm sorry I don't have any words of wisdom as I'm

relatively new to all this. The only thing I've learnt from my own

experience is that although on paper everything might look ok

with regards to blood work etc. it seems to take the body a while

to settle down after going through such an ordeal as being

hyper. Then especially for you going through the rigours of

surgery must exacerbate the situation.

Thanks, Jen - I'll look into Coral Calcium. There's so many

variations out there!

I'm taking the Caltrate 600 with D at the surgeon's suggestion

morning and aft and the Cal/Mag(my idea) at bedtime. Maybe I'll

just take the Caltrate til it runs out and use supplemental

Magnesium. The dosage I'm at is 2200 mg. Calcium and 500

mg. Mag and 400 IU Vitamin D. I'm probably doing twice as

much calcium as the stated daily requirement on the bottles but

the D and magnesium are both at the desired levels, which I

think is more important. I don't think that I've read anywhere that

2200 mg of Calcium is toxic, but I'll check. If anyone knows.

please let me know! I take a lot of Vitamin C to help the wound

heal and that has made the swelling go down a lot.

Like most hyper people I don't think that I absorbed many

nutrients well when my metabolism was at its most rapid. I feel

better already after only 2 weeks of this.

A good night's rest to all--
