Guest guest
Hi , while you can predict approximately how a dose of PTU relates to Tapazole, this isn't exact. You're metabolizing Tapazole at a slower rate than you did PTU since it has a lower half-life. So while the dose is approximately the same, the Tap dose will stay in your system longer and work more potently. How you feel is more important than the labs right now as long as they're in the normal range, but if you begin noticing symptoms of hypoT, you'll need to ask for a dose reduction. Glad Tap is working so well for you. Take care, elaine

Guest guest
I meant to say Tap has a longer half-life, not a lower half-life. The half-life is the time in hours that 50% of a drug dose is metabolized or used up. The longer the half-life the longer the drug is in your blood circulation.
