Guest guest
DD2 has had a wonderful first week at school. She was so excited about going and, thank goodness, it lived up to her expectations. She has been fast tracked through the reading scheme and now has a book with words in it, which she can read already, along with all the word cards she was given. Her teacher has also been doing number work with her, as DD2 was complaining that she hadn't done any 'big people's maths' by Wednesday!! She is in a 28 pupil school, with three teachers and two classroom assistants (plus PT learning support and a student teacher) so her teacher (the mum of DD1's friend, coincidentally) is able to monitor each child individually. I'm also amazed at the change for the better in DD2 at home, as well. She is much calmer and more reasonable during the afternoons (she finishes at 12.30) and we've had some pleasant times, without the usual battles that occur all too often. Lets hope it lasts!!
