Guest guest
Melatonin has really helped me. I had (have) the same problem as your husband...can fall asleep in 30 seconds but then wake up from 1-2:30. My mind then would start racing and be filled with thoughts I had this sleep problem for over 4 years, I think it was related to all the other gut problems I was having (yeast, parasites, constipation)...very LOW Dopamine I started with 10-12 mgs of melatonin (2 5mg tablets and a 2 mg) about an hour before bed. I know AI suggests trying the time release versions as well, but they did not seem to work as well for me I am at 10 mgs now. I have tried 15 mgs but it seems to make me a bit hyper at night, However in the last few days I have also started hydrocortisone (for adrenals) and have switched to dpms. I think my body likes dpms better I have noticed my sleep seems to be better these last few days and I am waking up less. I have also started to have more dreams I have just been to see MWP (Most Wonderful Practitioner). She recommended vitamin c (1 gram, which is about a 1/4 teaspoon) with meals to help with stomach acid and digestion). Also she suggetsted 4-5 tablets of betaine HCL (400-500 mgs each;, again for stomach acid)...along with biotin. I also take enzymes and chromium picolinate (I have high blood sugar) She suggested I also incrase my magnesium by way of 1/4-1/8th teaspoon with water (3 times a day) and glucosamine sulfate for increased sulfates (Not sure why she suggested this) Good luck > > My husband has trouble with the quality of his sleep.
