" generally when would you like people to come and visit your newborn

first. "

Everyone is different and probably felt differently after each baby

was born anyway. I was quite happy to be " invaded " the day after the

birth of DD2 (which conveniently was a Bank Holiday) but I did have an

easy pregnancy and an amazingly easy and short birth (apart from a bit

of heavy bleeding). I was in hospital but escaped when DD2 was 13

hours old.

After DD1 I had a PPH and so was kept in hospital for four days but

again was quite happy to be " invaded " after I got home but then again

I am used to hordes of people traipsing through my house all hours of

the day. If someone is bit more private than me or had a difficult

labour or has a grouchy baby or not much support, I can see that it

would be quite difficult to be expected to make cups of tea and

entertain.

Fortunately most of my visitors know me well (ie, that I am a lazy

tart!!) and made their own cups of tea etc and let me just doss around

with baby attached to my boob!!
