My confidence in current GP has flown pdq out of the window! It's going to be awkward going back asking for a repeat prescription.. not sure what to do. Any thoughts? You get assigned an endo precisely to avoid problems with inexperience on the part of GP's, if the GP queries the renewal just refer your GP to the endo. Try not to let the politics bother you, it is your health and it is more important than your doctor's ego. From what you said before about your GP before - I don't think this is necessarily a reason to leave. Don't dump your GP just because they don't know how to treat Graves', the next one may be no better. However if you can find a GP with an interest in thyroids, then you can make a positive switch. As I said here before the best UK doc's usually have the most patients, as they can't regulate demand by putting up their prices like they do in the US (thankfully). So although you say it is hard to switch GP in the UK, obviously enough do switch to affect availability. My guess is for 95% plus of patients, they see there GP for routine scans, innoculations etc and it doesn't really matter if their GP is an Einstein or a Beckham (oh damn missed an opportunity to use my favourite word - " fungible " ). However for those who do have serious or unusual complaints they are more likely to need a better GP, and even a small number of these switching probably create a substantial work load for the GP's they switch to. > It's a long time since I saw 'Life of ' who did you mean?? " we are all individuals " voice at back of crowd " I'm not " Did you see in the Sahara when he went back to where he was crucified? Always look on the bright side.
