Guest guest
I agree with everyone else - my DH is just the same!! His two most annoying " helping out " are as follows: 1. He goes shopping, spends twice as much as I would and we run out of food by Wednesday. I have to throw away a lot of what he has bought as he NEVER looks at sell by dates. 2. He decides he will shift the washing mountain so puts washload on after washload, but does not hang it up, consider whether it is raining or whatever so I am left with mounds of damp washing to try to get dry when it is much easier to do it a load at a time and get that one dry first before starting the next!! Oh, and another thing, he moans about the mess. I must admit I am quite an untidy person BUT when he relaxes in the bath with the girls I run around like the proverbial blue-bottomed fly de-grotting the kitchen, feeding animals, throwing toys into cupboards, draws etc, getting his tea ready. I returned from walking the dog tonight to find his dirty plate and cutlery on the worktop above the dishwasher (how much effort would it have taken to open the dishwasher and put it in?!) and an empty cake wrapper and half full pot of cream on the table (next to the fridge - ditto above!). He was the same when we did not have children, when we did have one and I worked full-time and now that I work very part-time and we have two children and no. 3 on the way. And he can never work out why I get so stressy about it either! Francesca
Guest guest
My DH is in charge of the dishwasher - to the extent that I refuse to empty it if he forgets before going to work. He puts the bin out and cuts the grass (only this year - his dad used to do it for us before he died) and if the nappy disposal unit is full he empties that on Sundays whilst I am at church. He does cook tea for me and him most nights and does breakfast for the children. I am sure that he used to do more than this pre-children and I think as we have had each child he has done less housework but more golf. He does sort out the car insurance once a year but only after I remind him. He has no idea of the childrens schedule and my " emergency back up helpers " but is probably more aware of DS3's days at nursery as he does the dropping off and picking up as it is a work place nursery. I always feel totally out of that. Trisha SAHM to 3 boys
