Guest guest
Thanks to Angi being so quick off the mark and letting me know I might have a virus - I am now the proud owner of a bang-up-to-date Norton Antivirus and I hope, virus free. I did have a virus, which appears to be a high risk, highly infectious and destructive piece of work. It was only identified by Norton in April, so my earlier software, didn't recognise it. It starts by selecting random text from word documents and sending them to people in your address book. It then infects most application files and progresses to changing or deleting system settings and corrupting/deleting data files. Whilst NAV can clean the infected files it can't help with the deleted files - so if it had got worse, without backups I could have lost all sorts of things. Horrid. I have now run it 3 times - to be sure, to be sure, to be sure - but tbh, I'm still a bit edgy. Thanks very much Angi for letting me know - with this one sooner is certainly better than later.
