Guest guest
Hello, I'm about 7 months out from amalgam removal and have been chelating since then regularly with the protocol. My current dose, where i've been for quite a while, is 25mg ala and 25mg DMSA every 3 hours, with a couple 4 hour doses at night. For the first several months , i definitely felt better on chelation, but the past few rounds that has been reversed. I feel crappy off round, and extremely crappy on-round. I should mention that i did see some lasting positive effects from chelation, especially after including the ALA, mostly brain function related. I noticed, when everything started to get worse, that i was at the 6 month post-amalgam removal point, where Andy says to expect to feel worse. So, i guess this is normal? My question is, is there anything i should do differently chelation-wise? I have tried a couple rounds with dmps 12mg and ala 25 mg, but there wasn't much difference. One of the worst symptoms has been agitation miseries while on dmsa/ala. The complete inability to get comfortable at any point, just a raging sensation of tension throughout my body and brain. I phoned my (chelation friendly) doc and asked for a Xanax prescription, but he doesn't want to give it to me. (Just as an example). The agitation tended to dissipate off round somewhat, and not be so intolerable. I was thinking, perhaps i should do some rounds with just dmps or dmsa. So i just finished a 5 day round of 25 mg dmsa. The agitation was a somewhat lessened, but i still felt quite weak and exhausted and sleep was still much more difficult. I am on armour and hydrocortisone and much nutritional support. This feels a bit different from the agitation i experienced prior to going on HC. I also started Plaquenil about a month ago (for babesia and autoimmune problems), which seemed to be helping a bit. And LDN (low dose naltrexone, for autoimmune). I don't know if these things are helping or complicating at the moment, but i'm committed to them for awhile, so... It's hard to explain the generalized awfulness of how i've been feeling. I'm taking milk thistle, red root (for lymph), magnesium, etc, and probably everything you can think of. My doctor is big on the methylation cycle so has me on things for that, which has helped. The only thing that seems to directly (experientially) help how i feel these days is a drink i make with kombucha, mangosteen, ginger, and goji. And green tea. But i don't want to overdo that (one of each per day). Does anyone have any advice on this? Have you experienced something similar? What helped? How long does this phase last? Thanks for any encouragement, NJ
